TOPLESS REVIEW 2014

MAIN SECTIONS

The Topless Review was originally an attempt to keep a record of all the celebrity uncoverings that occur in Newspapers, Magazines, and on Television in the current year. However in more recent years coverage of Newspapers has fallen away due to a combination of reduced awareness of anything of relevance and seemingly less instances of what used to be a fairly frequent event. Magazines even more so.

Therefore it is only now the Television section that retains any concerted effort to be as comprehensive as possible.

Symbols Used (entries added since the last update will show the symbol in RED)
J definite topless shots with one or both breasts bare with nipple(s) visible. This includes nipple slips and see-through shots.
L technically topless but covered due to careful or fortuitous posing.

Silent Witness (BBC1 - 23/01/2014) series 17, story 4: Undertone, part 1 of 2
J Jane McGrath (Alice Preston) - topless laying dead on a mortuary table with an autopsy scar down her torso as head pathologist Dr Thomas Chamberlain (Richard Lintern) covers her up with a sheet after completing a supplemental examination.

Silent Witness (BBC1 - 31/01/2014) series 17, story 5: Fraternity, part 2 of 2
J Daisy Ridley (Hannah Kennedy) - topless laying dead on a mortuary table as doctors Thomas Chamberlain (Richard Lintern) and Nikki Alexander (Emilia Fox) begin her postmortem examination.
She had a large speaking role in the previous episode

The 7:39 (BBC1 - part2:07/01/2014) two part drama
J Sheridan Smith (Sally Thorn) - her left nipple is briefly glimpsed during a sex scene on a hotel bed with her lover Carl Matthews (David Morrissey) as they take the next step in their burgeoning adulterous relationship which began after they got to know each other on their daily train commute to work - overall the scene is very carefully filmed to avoid nudity but her nipple is inadvertently seen at one point for a few frames through a gap between their touching hands - later on (the next morning) the full side of her hanging right breast is seen as she moves atop Carl while laying on the hotel bedroom floor - no nipple nudity seen here • on another occasion in another hotel room tryst, once they have got into a routine, she is laying on her front on the bed propped on her elbows beside Carl as they talk - with the topside of her breasts mostly seen but touching the bed so her nipples cannot be seen.

J Estella Daniels (Zita) - topless side view with her left breast seen as she disrobes in front of her master Girolamo Riario (Blake Ritson) in his ship cabin as she seduces him with her exotic beauty.

Episode 3: The Voyage of the Damned (18/04/2014)
J Dilan Gwyn (Yana) - briefly topless as swashbuckling slaver Alfonso (Kieran Bew) holds her up as a shield when adventurer Leonardo Da Vinci (Tom Riley) bursts into his ship cabin seeking combat to commandeer the ship only to find his quarry having his way with one of his comelier captives - then topless as Alfonso pushes her at Da Vinci to give himself time to retrieve his sword.

J Lara Pulver (Clarice Orsini) - making love astride Carlo de Medici (Ray Fearon) on a bed with the side of her right breast seen from a medium distance - her face is not seen.

Episode 6: The Rope of the Dead (09/05/2014)
J Carolina Guerra (Ima) - full frontal nudity and rear nudity as she removes her Inca garments in front of a weakening Leonardo Da Vinci (Tom Riley) who is afflicted by snake venom as part of a ritual test of worthiness for marriage to her - then topless as she sits astride her to help give him strength to last through the ordeal until his compatriot Girolamo Riario (Blake Ritson) returns with the antidote if he survives his own test of survival.

Episode 7: The Vault of Heaven (16/05/2014)
J Lara Pulver (Clarice Orsini) - topless laying on her back making love on a bed with Carlo de Medici (Ray Fearon) with her left nipple seen as she sits up to hold him as they conclude their exertions - later topless as she rises to a seated position again after they finish some subsequent pillow talk.
NOTE: In the UK Fox broadcast the initial overhead topless shot of her laying on her back, that had been present in the original Amercian broadcast, was edited out. None of the other episodes had nude scenes changed.

Episode 8: The Fall From Heaven (23/05/2014)

J Uncredited (Geraldine Millican) - topless laying dead on an autopsy table as her body is uncovered ready for her postmortem • topless in a series of B&W modelling prints that caddish Leslie White (Lee Ingleby) is showing to his piqued mistress Deirdre Hunt (Charlie Murphy). Although named, hers was a non-speaking bit-part and did not receive a credit.
J Charlie Murphy (Deirdre Hunt) - topless in a B&W modelling still that she sees when she opens an envelope while breakfasting with her husband Billy (Branwell Donaghey) feeling shocked that the photos she reluctantly posed for in return for drugs have been sent to her for reasons unknown • another B&W still that sees her cupping over her breasts with her left nipple seemingly half visible - seen when the print is shown to Billy by police Inspector Hackett (Stanley Townsend) while he is being questioned on suspicion of her murder • topless in a bath stupefied by self-administered drugs as Billy enters and opportunistically pushes her head under the water with no resistance to drown her motivated by his shame and disgust at the photos she posed for - a flashback to the crime seen during Billy's police interview.

NOTE: Episode 6 had no new nudity. However in its opening recap of episode 5, Charlotte Spencer is seen in an extra topless moment when she and Eli are laying together at rest after their sex. In the actual episode this bit was framed to avoid showing her breasts, but in the recap the framing is looser and her previously hidden right breast is seen on screen.
