TOPLESS REVIEW 2007

MAIN SECTIONS

The Topless Review is an attempt to keep a record of all the celebrity uncoverings that occur in Newspapers, Magazines, and on Television in the current year. Inevitably, there will be some that I've missed. A lot of it (perhaps 80% of the non-TV entries) relies on what is posted in the binaries newsgroup alt.binaries.tv.shaggable.babes especially from all the various glossies and newspapers.

Symbols Used
J definite topless shots with one or both breasts bare with nipple(s) visible. This includes nipple slips and see-through shots.
L technically topless but covered due to careful or fortuitous posing.
K a topless image that is a new one from a previously seen set or occasion (that I've not seen before). Unless it is only very recently after the initial appearance.
N Images that may have been doctored by magazines or turn out to be fakes, etc.

J Pippa Haywood (Joanna Clore) - Rear nudity as she walks down a deserted beach towards the sea with Dr Statham (Mark Heap) where they plan to kill themselves.

Waking The Dead (BBC1 - 07/01/2007) series 6, story 1 - "Wren Boys" part 1 of 2
L Carey Mulligan (Sister Brigid) - bare back and some side of her right breast while standing with her arms raised whispering prayers while some fellow nuns nurse the flagellation cuts on her back - no nipple nudity.

Consent (C4 - 21/01/2007)
J Anna Madeley (Becky Palmer) - her left breast is seen out of her red dress while she is laying on her back on a bed having sex with Steve (Daniel Mays) as he forces her to continue after she has started to object - seen at the very end of the programme to show the truth of what really did happen after the verdict in the rape trial has been given.

Trial and Retribution (ITV1 - 28/01/2007) 2007 series, story 3 - "Paradise Lost", part 1 of 2
J Kirsty Yates (Sarah Tennant) - topless laying on her back as a dead body on an autopsy table.
J Victoria Smurfit (DCI Roisin Connor) - very brief glimpse of most of the side of her left breast as she quickly sits up on a bed to wake up her boyfriend Neil Dench (Adrian Lukis) - quite dark and virtually in silhouette - no nipple nudity seen.

Five Days (BBC1 - 30/01/2007) part 4 of 5

Waking The Dead (BBC1 - 05/02/2007) series 6, story 5 - "Double Bind", part 2 of 2
J Abby Francis (Agatha) - topless walking in the garden of a hippy squat house when young Chris (Robbie Dean) sees her and she waves to him • (later) topless indoors with her body now painted with floral decorations of plant stems and painted flower petals on her breasts with her nipples as centre buds as she walks down the stairs and welcomes young Chris to touch her while he is high on a drug and in his addled state he imagines himself tearing away her skin and her entrails falling out as he tries to push them back in (the gruesome parts are close-ups of a dummy body torso but the master shots are the real her). (Both these scenes take place in a 1967 flashback sequence).

Recovery (BBC1 - 25/02/2007)
J Sarah Parish (Tricia Hamilton) - rear nudity and the full side of her left breast seen as she stands in front of a bed alongside her brain damaged husband Alan (David Tennant) as she encourages him by joining in with his dressing confidence method of having the clothes to wear laid out on the bed in the order they need to be put on - seen at a medium distance.

Kitchen (C5 - 28/02/2007) part 1 of 2
J Natalie J Robb (Grace) - topless laying on her back in a hotel room bed with her hands holding onto the bedpost behind her as she thoroughly enjoys herself while her young lover Danny Swift (James Young) gives her oral sex beneath the sheets - then topless laying beside him smoking a cigarette as they talk and room service knocks on the door.

Fallen Angel (ITV1 - 12/03/2007) part 2 of 3 - The Judgement of Strangers
J Niamh Cusack (Vanessa Byfield) - rear nudity standing in a bedroom getting changed into her night-dress as she talks to her husband David (Charles Dance) laying in bed.
J Cara Horgan (Joanna Clifford) - topless astride David (Charles Dance) in a lovemaking scene with her left breast seen.

Sea of Souls (BBC1 - part1: 17/04/2007; part2: 19/04/2007) (untitled 2-part story)
J Neve McIntosh (Karen O'Rourke) - (part 1) her breasts are very briefly fully glimpsed hanging inside her drooping top as she gets off the floor after leaning over to scrape away some of the floor covering an old mural with Dr Monaghan (Bill Paterson) - an extremely brief moment but clearly seen when the sequence is viewed more slowly.
J Tanya Moodie (Alisha, the black servant woman) - (part 1) topless kneeling on the floor performing a solo Palo ritual ceremony in which she sways and moans and then cuts her arm with a knife to draw and collect blood that she then uses as part of the ritual - secretly watched by Rebecca (Christina Cole) from the shadows when she discovers the servant woman doing this. (This is a flashback scene set in Victorian times). (in part 2's start-of-episode recap some of the scene is replayed)
J Christina Cole (Rebecca Muir) - (part 1) topless in a lovemaking scene underneath Robert Dunbar (Douglas Henshall) in bed - her scenes are part of a flashback to Victorian times and seen in a series of short moments intercut with a present day scene in which Karen (Neve McIntosh) is discovered injured in a bathroom.• (part 2) in the start-of-episode recap the entire scene from episode 1 is replayed but with the short moments edited together without the interspersed bathroom scene • later in the episode a further new moment from the same flashback is seen with the side of her right breast seen while astride Robert.

City Lights (ITV1 - ep3: 18/04/2007; ep5: 02/05/2007) 6-part series
J (ep3) Joan Hooley (Edith Morris) - briefly seen topless in her bathroom when her neighbour Colin (Robson Green) bounces up on a trampoline he is testing and accidentally sees her.
L (ep5) Sian Reeves (Pauline Scott) - lovemaking scene laying on top of her lover Gary Tate (Nicholas Gleaves) with the side of her right breast seen pressed against him as they kiss - no nipple nudity.

Life Line (BBC1 - part1: 24/04/2007; part2: 26/04/2007) 2-part story
J Joanne Whalley (Katy Adair) - (part 1) lovemaking scene astride her lover Peter Brisco (Ray Stevenson) with the full side of her left breast seen pressed against him as they kiss - no nipple nudity seems to be quite seen - however a bit later there is a very brief moment in a quick flashback (whilst Peter is walking along remembering it) which shows a slightly different bit of the scene in which her breasts are seen more completely including her nipples this time.
J Jemima Rooper (Catt) - (part 1) laying beside Peter (Ray Stevenson) in bed talking after they have made love - although the bedcover is pulled up, her left nipple can be just seen above the sheets - this exposure lasts a fair amount of time during the scene • (part 2) topless lovemaking scene astride Peter - filmed in an intentionally similar way to the Joanne Whalley scene from part 1 but a bit more revealing than that was.

Dalziel and Pascoe (BBC1 - 06/05/2007) ep: Demons on our Shoulders, part 1 of 2
J Robyn Addison (Katherine Taylor) - topless astride a man (Paul Hilton) on the floor while participating in an occult ceremony in which she throws a blood painted white cloth on a fire of coals to put a curse on hypnotist Lee Knight (Richard E. Grant). (Later on her dead body is found with her right breast seen but due to the nature of her injuries with only one side of her body present it seems likely that this would have to have been a dummy rather than some clever make-up/camera trick - same seen again later on the mortuary slab although here her "missing" half was covered by a sheet).
(part 2 showed some of the scene again in a flashback sequence)

Kingdom (ITV1 - 06/05/2007) episode 3 of 6
L Hermione Norris (Beatrice Kingdom) - almost her right breast seen as she is standing against an art studio wall with artist Alan McEwan (Paul Kaye) as they kiss and she frantically takes his vest off - possibly her right nipple is marginally glimpsed momentarily - but not certain - then the side of her left breast briefly seen pressed against his chest as they move around the room in passionate embrace smearing paint over each others bodies - no nipple nudity.

Talk To Me (ITV1 - ep1: 10/06/2007; ep2: 17/06/2007; ep3: 24/06/2007) 4-part series
J (ep1) Laura Fraser (Claire) - brief rear nudity as Mitch (Max Beesley) carries her from a chair to a bed with brief lower nudity glimpsed as he lays her down prior to them having sex. (Although they are both otherwise naked she unaccountably still has her bra on and keeps it on throughout)
J (ep2) Kate Ashfield (Kelly) - brief glimpses of her breasts are seen while undressing and kissing tenderly with her pupil Aaron (Aaron Johnson) - then topless with her right breast briefly seen while laying on her back underneath him on a bed in a lovemaking scene.

J (ep3) Genevieve O'Reilly (Kate) - topless laying in bed asleep beside her young lover Dexter (Augustus Prew) with the covers down - seen from a high angle at a medium distance

Blaired Vision (C4 - ep1: 26/06/2007)
J Margaret Fowler (Cherie Blair) - Topless putting on a jumper over her head while sitting on a bed after having had sex with her newly victorious prime minister husband Tony Blair (John Brolly) • rear nudity being towelled down in a shower by a beautician • rear nudity standing by a mirror as she takes off a towel and her husband wraps her in a traditional Indian garment - some full frontal nudity glimpses also seen in the mirror reflection • still image holiday snaps of her in a swimming pool with her husband with one breast out of her bikini cups.
The programme was a spoof with celebrity look-alikes taking the parts of the real personalities in supposed hidden camera candid incidents capturing moments of their private lives
(Also the actress playing Carole Caplin is seen topless in the still photos but not individually credited - maybe Jane Kemlo, Nicki Lilley or Mary Reynolds)

Rome (BBC2 - Series 2) 10 episodes

Episode 5 - Heroes of the Republic (04/07/2007)
J Zuleikha Robinson (Gaia) - lovemaking scene underneath Lucius Vorenus (Kevin McKidd) in bed with most of her breasts seen pressed against his chest although no nipple nudity seems to be quite seen - then afterwards topless laying on her back beside him with her left breast fully seen as they talk.

Episode 9 - Deus Impeditio Esuritori Nullus (18/07/2007)
J Noa Bodner (Prostitute) - topless sitting up in bed after sleeping with Lucius Vorenus (Kevin McKidd) and putting on her wig (she is bald prior to this) - then rear nudity as she gets out of bed and he leaves.
J Zuleikha Robinson (Gaia) - laying in bed with the sheets covering her as Titus Pullo (Ray Stevenson) gets dressed to leave with her right breast briefly seen as he reaches under the sheets to fondle her as he kisses her good bye and then as she watches him leave.
J Alice Henley (Livia) - topless lovemaking scene with her husband Octavian (Simon Woods) as she lays back on the side of the bed and he has vigorous sex with her while standing on the floor - then she slaps him several times and he continues more vigorously - next topless laying on top of him as they complete their lovemaking - then topless laying on her back beside him afterwards as they talk and she speculates on his political strategy.
J Lyndsey Marshal (Cleopatra) - topless with her left breast briefly seen as the side of her white dress slips down while she and Mark Anthony (James Purefoy) start kissing passionately after having had a furious row.

Cape Wrath (C4 - ep3: 24/07/2007) 7-part series
J Melanie Hill (Brenda Ogilvie) - some side of her left breast briefly seen in a lovemaking scene astride a young lad Mark Brogan (Harry Treadaway) - seen from a medium distance as she is leaning forwards over him with her face not seen.

J Rayisa Kondracki (Inge Karlson) - topless with her left breast very briefly seen as her dead body is being carried out of a river by Danish police in a flashback snippet.

Empathy (BBC1 - 04/08/2007) one-off drama
J Phillippa Wilson (Maddy) - Brief topless side view with the full side of her right breast seen whilst astride Jimmy Collins (Stephen Moyer) in bed - her face remains unseen above the frame of the shot (although since she was a minor character it was probably not for body doubling reasons).

Skins (C4 - Series 1) 9 episodes

Episode 1 - (21/08/2007)
J Uncredited (Miriam Griffiths) - rear nudity and topless in her bedroom getting dressed as Tony (Nicholas Hoult) watches from across the street in his bedroom as she puts on a knowing exhibitionist show for him as her regular morning ritual - seen from a medium distance through the window • rear nudity walking to the window and topless as she pulls up the blinds - then topless as she talks to her husband (John Arthur) - seen closer up from both within the room and just outside the window - then brief full frontal nudity seen standing at the window with rear nudity as she turns away - seen from the outside through the window.
She is not credited despite having some dialogue while talking to her husband (who IS credited). She appears in these scenes only. Her husband calls her "Miriam" in the dialogue. He appears in another scene as well at a girls school where he teaches and is credited as "middle-aged teacher" - he calls himself "Mr Griffiths" in the school dialogue. Neither character appears again in the rest of the series.

Episode 2 - (28/08/2007)
J Naomi Allisstone (Margeritte, Cassie's Mother) - full frontal nudity from a medium distance laying on her side on a couch posing as her husband (Neil Morrissey) paints her - then closer up topless shots as she talks to her daughter Cassie (Hannah Murray).
J Siwan Morris (Angie, teacher) - full frontal nudity as she comes out of a shower stall in the women's staff shower room at school - then rear nudity as she puts on a thong - all seen at a medium distance - then topless closer-up as she notices pupil Tony (Nicholas Hoult) is in the room drying his wet trousers on the wall dryer and has seen her and she tells him with mock indignation he shouldn't be in there - then she remembers to cover up her breasts with her hands when pupil Sid (Mike Bailey) also comes in followed later by Chris (Joe Dempsie) - then when they have departed she is seen topless again when she removes her hands and looks down at herself and feels a bit chuffed that she still has what it takes to transfix teenage boys.

Episode 7 - (02/10/2007)
J April Pearson (Michelle) - bare back and full side of her right breast seen as she sits up on the far side of a bed to quickly slip on a top when someone comes home unexpectedly downstairs while she was in bed with a boyfriend (Ben Lloyd-Hughes) - seen at a medium distance with her face not seen at the same moment but seen before and after as part of a continuous sequence.

Coming Down The Mountain (BBC1 - 02/09/2007) one-off drama
J Emer Kenny (Gail Hardcastle) - A brief glimpse of her left breast is seen while she is laying on her back on a bed with her boyfriend David (Nicholas Hoult) and he uncovers her breast from her top and he sees she has a nipple ring.

Stuart: A Life Backwards (BBC2 - 23/09/2007) one-off drama
J Candis Nergaard (Sophie, Stuart's Wife) - Rear nudity laying on her side asleep on a bed near her baby in a cot - then topless side view with her left breast briefly glimpsed as she gets off the bed and puts on a pink dressing gown after Stuart (Tom Hardy) arrives home and gets into a rage and hits and shouts at her.

J Lorna Doyle (Joan) - Topless sitting on Cardinal Wolsey's (Sam Neill) back on a bed as she gives him a rough massage whilst they talk.
J Natalie Dormer (Anne Boleyn) - Topless with her left breast seen as she stands modestly covering the rest of her nudity when the king suddenly opens the door to her room - this is part of an erotic dream the king is having about her.

Episode 6 - (09/11/2007)
J Rebecca Friberg (Joan) and Fiona Ryan (Jane) - Topless sitting up side by side in bed when George Boleyn (Padraic Delaney) comes into the bedroom - they are playfully re-creating the pose of a well known painting in which Joan is reaching over and tweaking one of Jane's nipples.

J Amy Hastings (Mole Girl) - Topless lovemaking scene beneath Charles Brandon (Henry Cavill) as he tries to build up a sweat to help ward off the sweating sickness - then topless laying beside him afterwards as they talk.   (A very brief role and it is not at all clear why she is billed as "Mole Girl" - but the credits are in appearance order so that credit must be hers)

Episode 9 - (30/11/2007)
J Kate Brennan or Vanessa Keogh (Maid) - Topless lovemaking scene astride Charles Brandon in a bed with her left breast seen hanging from the side.   This identification is based on appearance order. Kate Brennan's credit (as Maid) appeared first and Vanessa Keogh's credit (as Young Maid) appears directly afterwards. Going by appearance order the topless maid ought to be Kate Brennan - but it's possible that the credits might be slightly out of order since the woman does look quite like a picture found of Vanessa Keogh Neither maid had any dialogue and it's actually surprising either were credited.

Episode 10 - (07/12/2007)
J Natalie Dormer (Anne Boleyn) - Passionate topless lovemaking scene with King Henry VIII outdoors in some woods.

J Elaine Cassidy (Lucy Honeychurch) - (Full-screen broadcast on analogue) A very brief glimpse of her breasts are seen hanging at the start of a bed scene with George Emerson (Rafe Spall) as she is laying atop him - the glimpse is very momentary lasting for only a couple of frames and hard to see at normal speed.
