TOPLESS REVIEW 2005

MAIN SECTIONS

The Topless Review is an attempt to keep a record of all the celebrity uncoverings that occur in Newspapers, Magazines, and on Television in the current year. Inevitably, there will be some that I've missed. A lot of it (perhaps 80% of the non-TV entries) relies on what is posted in the binaries newsgroup alt.binaries.tv.shaggable.babes especially from all the various glossies and newspapers.

Symbols Used (entries added since the last update will show the symbol in RED)
J definite topless shots with one or both breasts bare with nipple(s) visible. This includes nipple slips and see-through shots.
L technically topless but covered due to careful or fortuitous posing.
K a topless image that is a new one from a previously seen set or occasion (that I've not seen before). Unless it is only very recently after the initial appearance.
N Images that may have been doctored by magazines or turn out to be fakes, etc.

J Kirsten Dunst (American movie actress) - paparazzi picture of her waist-deep in the sea while on holiday in the Caribbean with her breasts seen when her strapless bikini top is displaced upwards. (Daily Mirror 01/01/2005)

J (part 1) Ty Glaser (Celia Mellock) - topless in a room with a man (Anthony Calf) as she removes her dress and they kiss passionately. She has a small role with just a few lines of dialogue.
J (part 2) Janie Dee (Emma Lavenham) - topless side view in a shower lathering her hair with her left breast seen - her face is not clearly seen.

Ultimate Force (ITV1 - 08/01/2005) series 3, episode 1, "Deadlier Than The Male"
J Heather Peace (Becca Gallagher) - topless and rear nudity standing to attention in a parade line with her fellow (all male) trainees as a sergeant gives them instructions while they are all naked and vulnerable - then topless as she puts on her uniform • briefly topless as Henno (Ross Kemp) slaps her to the ground during her interrogation resistance training • topless and rear nudity washing in a communal shower as she joins the male soldiers after the mission and then punches one of them to the ground after he makes a lewd comment.
J Unknowns (two female flight crew) - two topless girls standing in the doorway of the airport sauna with one of the soldiers (Christopher Fox) when Ross Kemp comes to find him. They were identified as flight crew in the dialogue and both had brief lines of dialogue - the first was blonde and unnamed, the second was brunette and named as Geraldine - neither of them were acknowledged in the credits and had no other role in the episode besides this scene.

The Walk (ITV1 - 27/02/2005)
J Nicola Stephenson (Christine) - topless as she stands in a desert and opens her jacket and lets a man (Ralph Ineson) kiss her chest. Her character has had a mastectomy and so her real left breast is covered by prosthetics to make it appear to be missing.

Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up - Results Show (BBC1 - 05/03/2005) {Live Music Show}
J Javine Hylton - Her right breast was seen when it briefly shook loose from the cup of her very daring russet-coloured low-cut dress whilst she was singing and dancing during the reprise of her winning song Touch My Fire. By chance the camera angle had just changed to a close-up of her as it happened.

Falling (ITV1 - 06/03/2005)
J Micaiah Dring (Lily Palmer) - topless lovemaking scene in a barn with young Henry (Philip McGinley) underneath and astride him - seen during a flashback sequence as older Henry (Michael Kitchen) is relating the experiences of his younger self. A brief snippet from this longish flashback is also seen earlier on which uses a different take.
J Alexandra Moen (Daphne) - topless lovemaking scene in a barn underneath young Henry - seen during a flashback sequence as older Henry is relating the experiences of his younger self. The sequence closely matches the first part of the earlier scene with Micaiah Dring.
J Uncredited (Marietta) - topless with her left breast briefly seen while making love astride a man (Thomas Lockyer) in bed when his wife (Penelope Wilton) comes in and sees them - a brief flashback in which she is named but has no dialogue or any other scenes and is not mentioned in the credits.

Diamond Geezer (ITV1 - 20/03/2005)
J Carli Norris (Betsy) - Bare back and full side of her right breast as she takes off her bra while being chased into a bedroom by her lover - no nipple nudity and her face remains unseen above the frame of the shot.

Fingersmith (BBC1 - ep1:27/03/2005; ep2:03/04/2005) 3-part serial
Part 1
J Sally Hawkins (Sue Trinder) - her breasts and general body shape are apparent through the material of her night-dress as she gets out of bed at night and pours a glass of water for her mistress (Elaine Cassidy) who is having a nightmare.
J Elaine Cassidy (Maud Lilly) - bare back as her maid (Sally Hawkins) helps her off with her chemise and on with a night-dress • her left nipple appears to be partially seen in a side view as her night-dress billows slightly while sitting in bed as her gloves are sensuously removed by her maid and they kiss.

The Girl in the Café (BBC1 - 25/06/2005)
J Kelly Macdonald (Gina) - briefly topless as she takes her night-shirt off over her head while standing beside a bed and then as she gets into the bed beside Bill Nighy.

To The Ends of the Earth (BBC2 -ep1: 06/07/2005; ep2: 13/07/2005) 3-part series

episode 1: "Rites of Passage"
J Paula Jennings (Zenobia) - her right nipple is briefly seen over the top of her under-corset while Edmund (Benedict Cumberbatch) is kissing her cleavage during their (otherwise clothed) sex scene in his cabin.

episode 2: "Close Quarters"
J Denise Black (Mrs Brocklebank) - briefly seen topless in bed with her husband (Richard McCabe) when the ship is lurching around in a storm and the cabin doors swing open as Benedict Cumberbatch is passing and everyone is panicking - seen at a medium distance.

Kenneth Tynan: In Praise of Hardcore (BBC2 - 12/08/2005)

J Polly Hudson (Margo) - topless and full frontal nudity as she takes off her robe on stage during rehearsals for a sensitivity exercise in which other cast members are encouraged to touch her all over • topless and full frontal dancing on stage during rehearsals with the other male and female dancers. She has no dialogue but is named in the first scene described in which she is prominent.
J Georgina Rich (Yrina) - topless and full frontal dancing on stage during rehearsals with the other male and female dancers. She has a speaking part in several other scenes.
J Daniela De Paulis (Maggie) - topless and full frontal dancing on stage during rehearsals with the other male and female dancers. She has no speaking part.
J Irmela Wiemann (Pam) - topless and full frontal dancing on stage during rehearsals with the other male and female dancers. She has no speaking part.
The final two names listed above are not named in the dialogue and are not prominently featured in any of the scenes they appear in - but they are members of the theatre cast (4 men, 4 women) who are all seen in several scenes rehearsing their play (Oh! Calcutta). They are named in the end-credits which are in appearance order so it is obvious the names refer to them. One is blonde and the other brunette but it is not apparent who is who out of these two.

Marian, Again (ITV1 - part1: 05/09/2005; part2: 06/09/2005) 2-part drama
J Kelly Harrison (Marian) - (part 1) topless on a beach standing in shallow sea as she pulls her black skirt off over her head and beckons for Stephen Tompkinson to join her • (part 2) topless side view on the beach as she runs to the sea - then topless jumping in the sea to dodge a wave - then topless waving her skirt in the air as she beckons Stephen Tompkinson.
Both parts depict the same flashback scene although the images used differ in each.

J Cara Horgan (Veronica Vass) - topless laying back in a bloodied bath almost dead when her two flatmates (Joe Anderson and Rhian Grundy) discover her suicide attempt - later briefly topless on a hospital operating table as surgeons try to revive her.

J Lyndsey Marshal (Cleopatra) - Making love passionately with Titus Pullo (Ray Stevenson) with her breasts briefly glimpsed several times as they move around the room with her legs around his waist and her onlooking servants holler their encouragement • topless laying on her back as Caesar pulls away her covering - then topless in a lovemaking scene with him - intercut with other scenes.
J Kerry Condon (Octavia) - Topless on a couch in a lesbian encounter with Servilia (Lindsay Duncan) - intercut with scenes of Caesar and Cleopatra making love.

episode 8 (21/12/2005)     (US episode 9)
J Kerry Condon (Octavia) - Brief glimpse of her right breast as she turns over in bed while talking to her brother Octavian (Max Pirkis).
J Lindsay Duncan (Servilia) - Topless in the streets as some rogues ambush her carriage and cut her hair and rip off her dress - although her face is sometimes seen in the shot it is fast moving and at a medium distance so may not really be her.

NOTE: The original US HBO broadcast was 12 episodes long. The BBC broadcast is 11 episodes. This is because the first 3 episodes were edited down into 2 episodes.   Therefore all BBC episodes from 4 onwards are numbered one lower than in the US sequence. The BBC broadcast versions are the ones reviewed here.

J Lucy Cohu (Princess Margaret) - Lovemaking scene underneath Antony Armstrong-Jones (Toby Stephens) on a bed with her left breast glimpsed - then afterwards topless laying back in the bed with the covers down and smoking a cigarette as she talks to Armstrong-Jones who is now sitting on a nearby armchair.

J (part1) Kate Ashfield (Miranda Cotton) - topless lovemaking scene in bed with Brendan (David Tennant) - then (next morning), briefly topless as she gets out of bed and puts on a robe.

Julian Fellowes Investigates: A Most Mysterious Murder (BBC1 - 27/12/2005) ep: The Case of the Earl of Erroll
J Josephine Butler (Diana Broughton) - Topless laying on her back in bed with Joss Erroll (William Scott-Mason) as they kiss and talk and then she sits up as he gives her a necklace and puts it around her neck.

The Ghost Squad (C4 - 27/12/2005) ep: 7 of 7: Colour Blind
J Elaine Cassidy (Amy Harris) - Topless rear/side view standing in a basement boiler room in front of D.I. Gus Philips (Adrian Lester) as he makes her strip off to be sure she isn't wearing a bug - the side of her shadowed right breast is seen as she removes her bra and then as she leans over to remove her briefs with some rear nudity also seen - no nipple nudity and her face is not seen because at the angle viewed at her hair hides it - may or may not really be her.
The series was originally billed as an 8-part series. But in the end the final two parts were shown as a double-length episode. If it were shown as a two-parter this scene would be in the second part (8th episode).

This is not an image archive so don't ask me to send you images corresponding to the items from the above lists.
